About the Author: Neville Lancelot Neville wurde am 19.02.1905 in St. Michael, Barbados, geboren. Im September 1922 kam er nach York, wo er später Theaterwissenschaften studierte. Die "Große Depression" führte dazu, dass die Menschen kein Geld mehr für Theaterbesuche und Tanzveranstaltungen hatten, was Nevilles Laufbahn jählings beendete. Auf einer Englandrundreise kam er erstmals mit geisteswissenschaftlichen Themen in Berührung. Nach seiner Rückkehr nach Amerika lernte er auf seltsame Weise einen aus Äthiopien stammenden Rabbiner kennen, der ihn fünf Jahre lang in Hebräisch, Kaballah und estoterischem Christentum unterwies. Neville war zu der Einsicht gelangt, dass die Bibel - auf die er sich neben den Werken des englischen Dichters William Blake - häufig bezog, nichts mit sekulärer Geschichte zu tun habe. Die dort genannten Ereignisse haben sich nicht von circa 2000 Jahren abgespielt, sondern finden jetzt in jedem einzelen Menschen statt. Die biblischen Namen stehen für Bewusstseinszustände. Nevilles Wirken kann in zwei Phasen unterteilt werden. In der ersten Phase lehrte er "das Gebot". Damit meinte der das geistige Gesetz, das eine Wunscherfüllung auf spirituellen Wege möglich macht. Er experimentierte mit mehreren Techniken (schlafähnlicher Zustand, Erinnerung, Revision, Telefontechnik ...), die er in effiziente Formeln brachte und zunächst selbst ausprobierte, bevor er sie in seinen Büchern und Vorträgen publik machte. In den letzten zwölf Jahren seines Leben konzentrierte er sich auf "die Verheißung", da ihm irdische Zustände als zu temporär vorkamen und es seiner Ansicht nach um Tiefgreifenderes ginge. Er verstarb am 1.10.1972 im Alter von 67 Jahren.
