Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 1,0, Freie Universität Berlin, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Arbeit gehe ich auf das kunstvolle Erzählgewebe von Döblin ein und stelle die verschiedenen Erzählsituationen in Theorie und Praxis dar. Dazu beziehe ich mich auf den Romanprolog und erleuchte die darin enthaltenen Erzählsituationen. Um die auktoriale Allwissenheit des Erzählers genauer zu betrachten, knüpfe ich ebenso an die Kapitelüberschriften an. Anschließend gehe ich auf einen "übernatürlichen" Erzähler -den Tod- ein, der plötzlich im Roman auftaucht und als weitere erzählende Instanz eine Rolle zugewiesen bekommt. Weiterhin setze ich mich mit dem Begriff der Montage und dessen literarische Bedeutung für Döblin auseinander. Die Relevanz der Montagearbeit für den Autoren untermauere ich, indem ich seine Montagetechnik näher beschreibe und runde die Hausarbeit schließlich mit einem Fazit ab. Mit dem Großstadtroman "Berlin Alexanderplatz" schuf Alfred Döblin im Jahre 1930 ein Kunstwerk, das durch seine komplexe Struktur und Erzählweise den Begriff des epischen Erzählens prägen und verändern sollte. Mithilfe von Erzählungen, Berichten, Dokumentationen und Zitaten baut Döblin seine eigene Stadt auf, indem sich nicht nur der Protagonist der Geschichte zurecht finden muss, sondern auch der Leser. Das dynamische Werk zwingt den Leser, sich eigens Orientierungspunkte zu setzen, um zu einer eigenen Ansicht der Stadt zu gelangen. In dem Klassiker der Literatur des 20. Jahrhunderts geht es um den Protagonisten Franz Biberkopf, der frisch aus dem Gefängnis entlassen wird und versucht in Berlin ein anständiges Leben zu führen. Er versagt sowohl aus eigner Kraft, wie auch aus Fremdeinflüssen, die sich im weiteren Verlauf als Schicksalsschläge erweisen. Die Stadt ist mit seinen akustischen und bildlichen Überreizungen ein starker Gegner, die ihn zu verschlingen droht.
