Diese wissenschaftliche Studie wurde erstellt, um die Auswirkungen des Ernährungszustands und der Ernährung von 90 Patienten zwischen 18 und 80 Jahren zu ermitteln, die in einem Dialysezentrum in Santiago de Chile eine chronische Hämodialysebehandlung erhielten. Es wurde eine quantitative, deskriptive, nicht-experimentelle Querschnittsstudie durchgeführt, bei der mit Hilfe eines Fragebogens mit strukturierten und offenen Fragen Informationen über die allgemeine persönliche Geschichte, den Gesundheitszustand und die Ernährung der Patienten gesammelt wurden, ergänzt durch Laborergebnisse, die im medizinischen Zentrum erhoben wurden. Außerdem wurden für jeden Patienten der BMI und der Malnutrition Inflammation Score ermittelt. Die Studie ergab, dass das Ernährungsniveau und die Ernährung von Patienten mit chronischer Niereninsuffizienz, deren soziodemografischer und klinischer Hintergrund von einer Region zur anderen erheblich variieren kann. Aspekte wie Geschlecht, Gewicht und Alter haben keinen signifikanten Einfluss auf die Entwicklung dieser Pathologie, von der weltweit Millionen von Menschen betroffen sind.
