Ziel der Seminararbeit ist die Beantwortung der Forschungsfragen mit Hilfe der verfügbaren Fachliteratur sowie eine Untersuchung innerhalb eines ausgewählten Kreditinstitutes. Eine der prägendsten Entwicklungen des 21. Jahrhunderts ist die Digitalisierung. Durch informationstechnologische Entwicklungen, verbunden mit einer hohen Veränderungsgeschwindigkeit, bewirkt sie einen Wandel in Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft. Unternehmen müssen deshalb innovative Geschäftsmodelle entwickeln und Potenziale des digitalen Wandels nutzen, um den Wandel bewältigen zu können. Gegenüber anderen Branchen hat der Finanzdienstleistungssektor die Veränderungsprozesse verzögert aufgegriffen, wodurch sich heute ein unmittelbarer Handlungsdruck für Innovationsprozesse ergibt. Eine wesentliche Herausforderung für Unternehmen stellt in diesem Zusammenhang die regelmäßige bedarfsorientierte Qualifikation ihrer Beschäftigten dar. Dabei gilt es, sich nicht nur auf die Qualifizierung in klassischen Bildungseinrichtungen zu konzentrieren, denn die Beschäftigten können mehr, als ihnen in Zeugnissen oder Zertifikaten bescheinigt wird. Etwa 70 bis 80 Prozent ihres Wissens und Könnens eignen sich Menschen außerhalb organisierter Bildungseinrichtungen an. Gerade diese "versteckten" Kompetenzen der Beschäftigten gelten als Schlüssel für eine erfolgreiche Gestaltung von Veränderungsprozessen und einen langfristigen Organisationserfolg. Sie bilden somit eine der bedeutendsten Ressource in einem Unternehmen.
