Inhaltsangabe: Problemstellung: Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit dem „Mythos Gruppe". In den meisten Unternehmen werden - begünstigt durch wissenschaftliche Forschungen und darauf basierenden Ergebnissen und Empfehlungen - immer mehr Gruppen eingesetzt. Die Gruppe erscheint als die humanste Arbeitsform, weil sie soziale und arbeitstechnische Aspekte am besten in sich vereint und effektivere Lösungen für Probleme verspricht. Gruppen als solche sind jedoch zu komplex, als dass man sie beobachten und verwertbare, allgemeingültige Ergebnisse daraus ableiten könnte. Die meisten Theorien basieren auf Ergebnissen, welche die Gruppenforschung mit Hilfe von Laboruntersuchungen, in denen „quasi-reale" Bedingungen simuliert werden, gewonnen hat. Gruppen sind nur ein Instrument in der alltäglichen Organisationsarbeit. Es gibt Tätigkeiten, für deren Erledigung sie von Vorteil sind. Es gibt aber auch Tätigkeiten, die gänzlich ungeeignet sind, um in Gruppen angegangen zu werden. In dieser Arbeit werden Wahrheiten und Irrtümer hinsichtlich der Arbeit in Gruppen dargestellt und kritisch reflektiert. Basierend auf den theoretischen und empirischen Konzepten wurde ein Fragebogen erstellt. Im Zeitraum von Dezember 2001 bis Januar 2002 wurden Studierende aller Fakultäten der Universität Augsburg anhand dieses Fragebogens befragt. Ziel dieser Untersuchung ist es, die Erfahrungen, aber auch die Erwartungen der Studierenden bezüglich der Arbeit in Gruppen zu untersuchen und die Teamfähigkeit und -willigkeit der kommenden Berufseinsteiger greifbar zu machen. So sollen Personalverantwortliche in den verschiedensten Unternehmen für die Sinnhaltigkeit von Gruppen und die Problematik der Auswahl von Gruppenmitgliedern sensibilisiert werden.
