About the Author: Robert J. Calvin is President of Management Dimensions, Inc an international consulting firm specializing in start-ups and early growth companies. Clients range from the Fortune 500 to the Inc. 100 and includes old and new economy firms. He also is an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship and marketing at the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business where he teaches M.B.A. courses in New Enterprise and Small Business Management and Executive Education courses in Sales Force Management. During the last 30 years, in addition to consulting, teaching and writing, Professor Calvin has bought several medium-sized businesses that were losing money, managed them back to profitability, and resold them to larger concerns. He has also started several new economy businesses. Through these experiences he has created a step-by-step proven formula for success in start-ups and early stage companies. As a teacher, consultant, entrepreneur and executive, he combines strategy and theory with tactics and implementation. Professor Calvin has written numerous books, including "Sales Management, The McGraw-Hill Executive MBA Series" which was the winner of the Soundview Award as one of the 30 best business books in 2001 and latter translated into Chinese. McGraw-Hill published his most recent book "Sales Management Demystified" in 2007.
