About the Book

To the End of Time and Back: An Epic Journey transports the reader through many lifetimes including ancient Sumer to a setting beyond imagination. The journey includes deep passion, mystery, joy, tragedy, and horror beyond belief. A and Z had just consummated their lovemaking on an overlook of the Pacific. To their surprise and shock, a being suddenly stands before them-thus, begins their voyage to answer long hidden questions that will eventually change their destinies forever. The reader will ultimately determine whether the stories that unfold are fiction or not. No matter what you determine, you will be caught up in the lives of A and Z as time unfolds before them. Do not take on the task of reading this book lightly for many of you will be changed forever.Though the book is laid out in verse form, it will read easily like a traditional novel. You will soon be oblivious to the form and become engrossed in the lives of the two passionate lovers. One critic wrote, "At the outset, I have to describe Epic as a wonderful piece of writing and an extraordinary reflection of broad vision by its creator. As a voracious consumer of science fiction and fantasy writing, I have never encountered this type of approach to story-telling that addresses meaningful questions about existence. The obvious historic research involved in unfolding stories across different cultures and eras is extensive and lends an air of credibility to the stories told. The interactions between two characters who feel to me as human as me . . . an entity best described as an angel . . . offers a useful vehicle for articulating life lessons illustrated in the life stories. . ."Another reader stated, ". . . captivating . . . written with a uniqueness I have not read in another book."Bob Casey's books and writings foster one major purpose, "To provide thoughtful comments on life." This epic story continues that tradition.
About the Author: Bob Casey's most recent book, From the End of Time and Back: An Epic Journey, was an epic journey in itself. It took a number of years to end up in print form. He believes that readers will be deeply moved and touched by its content. Bob is a writer, poet, educator, speaker, tai chi instructor, and presenter. More importantly, he is a seeker. He sees life as an adventurous journey with innumerable lessons to be learned along the way. His writing and poetry often focus on these life events. He spent much of his professional life in Ohio as an educator, consultant, and now a professional writer. He has sailed, cycled, hiked, and traveled extensively throughout the world. A favorite memory is the year spent in New Zealand on a teaching Fulbright. Later, his first book, The Wanderer: A Poetical Journey(2002), described his around the world trip and the insights gained. The second book, Wisdom from the Journey (2004), was a compilation of poems, vignettes, and recommendations from the Poetical Journal, a monthly Internet newsletter in its fourteenth year of publication. Subscribers reside in countries throughout the world. His third book, An Oasis in a Cluttered World (2006), continues to reflect on poems, vignettes, and stories that were included in the Poetical Journal. A Respite in Time (2012), is a series of vignettes, most only one or two pages in length that provide thoughtful comments on life. His work also appears in several anthologies. Bob, who has been a serious photography since his teens, had over fifty of his photographs published in an international award winning book. He has also had photographs appear in Better Homes and Gardens. Fourteen years ago, he helped form the Apple Valley Poets, a very talented group in north central Ohio. His poem, A Community that Cares, is buried in a time capsule to be opened in 2107. "Poet Bob," as his car license plate declares, is a past-president of the Ohio Poetry Association. This position allowed him to interact with some of the nation's top poets. His many other interests include photography, tai chi (instructor of Tai Chi for Health), cycling, yoga, ukulele jams, and reading. He currently resides in Midway, Utah, with his wife Janice. His son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter live about ten minutes away.
