Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2022 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Linguistik, Note: 1,0, Bergische Universität Wuppertal, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Es ist keine neue Annahme, dass Boulevardzeitungen wie die BILD auf eine andere Art und Weise kommunizieren, als es andere Tages- oder Wochenzeitungen tun. Wenn scheinbar klar ist, dass und wieso Boulevardmedien wie die BILD anders kommunizieren die Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, dann sollte sich dies theoretisch auch sprachwissenschaftlich nachweisen lassen. Die Arbeit wird versuchen, mithilfe der Berlin Affective Word List (BAWL), einer Datenbank von deutschen Wörtern mit wissenschaftlich fundierten Einstufungen bezüglich emotionaler Werte, einen solchen Nachweis zu liefern. Hierbei werden Online-Artikel, bei denen davon auszugehen ist, dass sie generell der Linie ihrer Muttermedien folgen, verglichen, die zum stark polarisierenden Thema der Silvesternacht 2015/2016 in Köln berichteten. Es werden auftretende Probleme bei der Verwendung des Werkzeugs festgehalten und versucht, die allgemeine Leitfrage zu beantworten: Inwiefern eignet sich die Berlin Affective Word List Reloaded (mit dieser Fassung wird gearbeitet) für einen Nachweis der Unterschiede zwischen BILD-Zeitung und anderen deutschen Zeitungen? Außerdem sollen währenddessen zwei zuvor aufgestellte Thesen überprüft werden: Aufgrund der extremen und kreativen Wortwahl auf Seiten der Boulevardmedien ist es möglich, dass eine akkurate Repräsentation der Emotionalisierung durch fehlende Übereinstimmungen mit dem Werkzeug erschwert wird. Da sog. Qualitätsmedien eine weniger emotionalisierende und konventionell gemäßigtere Wortwahl zeigen, die jedoch dem Thema entsprechend auch zu einem gewissen Grad emotionalisiert, könnten sie letztlich als emotionalisierender identifiziert werden als die Boulevardmedien.
