Superpowers! Do you have superpowers like me?
Throughout this book, classmates Freddie & Emily learn to make friends, alongside adjusting to each other's contrasting forms of communication. Despite needing to overcome these various obstacles, they must both remember to play, interact, and have fun.
Freddie & Emily's story provides an enjoyable but engaging atmosphere for children, whilst developing their skills on how to incorporate others with abilities different from their own.
Inclusion and diversity:
This book is a great way to help anyone be able to learn how to communicate with and understand someone hard of hearing or deaf. It will help to teach about empathy and disabilities.
Kindness and friendship:
Who doesn't want to make friends? Follow the story as you see how individuals adapt to get involved and play while learning to communicate with someone who interacts differently.
Children want to be seen as equal. This story will show your children that everyone can be the same. They all want to play and make friends.
Disabilities:
Siblings, parents, teachers, classrooms: Everyone needs to learn how to become inclusive and to help each other, be kind and patient and love one another. Great for individuals who are hard of hearing/ deaf to see a character the same as them. Also, great for any hearing individual to learn how the simple things you say or do; can help interact with someone who doesn't hear the same as you.
In this book, you will find it promoting diversity and inclusion while showing it's okay to be different. Being different can give you superpowers.
