About the Book

Zur Einfuhrung ein Beispiel: In den 20er Jahren des vorigen Jahrhunderts, v.a. aber in der NS-Zeit, begannen deutsche Firmen, darunter Fritz Werner, mit dem Ausbau des Teheraner Militar-Arsenals. In den 50er Jahren hat Fritz Werner diese Anlagen uberholt und modernisiert. Ausserdem erhielt Fritz Werner 1966 einen Auftrag zum Bau von Anlagen fur die Lizenzproduktion von Gewehren des Typs G-3 und Maschinengewehren des Typs MG-3 im Arsenal. Bei diesen Waffen handelte es um Waffen der Bundeswehr in der Zeit des Kalten Krieges. Schliesslich gab es 1967, kurz vor dem Schahbesuch, einen Auftrag im Werte von etwa 200 Mio. DM zum Bau einer Mehrzweckanlage. Faktisch war das eine Munitionsfabrik. In diesen Anlagen wurden in den folgenden Jahren die Hauptschutzenwaffen der iranischen Streitkrafte, die 1979 fast eine halbe Million Mann umfassten, hergestellt sowie Munition produziert. Eingesetzt wurden diese Waffen v.a. im Krieg Irak-Iran 1980-1988. Dieses Beispiel verweist auf ein Anliegen dieses Projektes. Gezeigt wird nicht nur, dass es eine mannlich dominierte Elitenkontinuitat in wichtigen Institutionen der jungen Bundesrepublik gegeben hat. Gefragt wird auch, was sich hieraus fur die Politik ergeben hat. Das obige Beispiel zeigt, dass bestimmte Uraltprojekte, die bereits in der NS-Zeit ausgebaut worden waren, auch in der Zeit nach 1945 fortgefuhrt wurden. Dem Schahregime, das 1953 durch einen Militarputsch an die Macht gekommen war, ging es dabei darum, Instrumente in die Hande zu bekommen, mit deren Hilfe es sich gegen innere und aussere Opponenten zur Wehr setzten konnte. Der Islamischen Republik, die 1979 durch eine Revolution an die Macht gekommen war, ging es darum, eine aussere Aggression des Regimes von Saddam Hussein abzuwehren. Gleichzeitig fand eine innere Militarisierung statt. Massenhaft wurden Kindersoldaten einberufen und an Waffen ausgebildet. Ausserdem wurden diese im Krieg Irak-Iran eingesetzt.
