Theologie / Religionspädagogik), Veranstaltung: Schuld und Sühne im Alten Testament, 21 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Jemanden in die Wüste schicken - das ist in unserer Gesellschaft eine gebräuchliche Redewendung. So würde man beispielsweise ungeliebte Politiker häufig gerne "in die Wüste schicken," sich ihrer also gleichsam entledigen. Wenn in der Politik etwas schief läuft, dann wird oft statt der wirklichen Ursache des Übels einfach ein "Sündenbock" gesucht. Auch dieser Begriff ist in unserem Sprachraum gang und gäbe. Beide Begriffe, "in die Wüste schicken" und "Sündenbock," sind biblischen Ursprungs. Sie gehen auf das Ritual des großen Versöhnungstages (3. Mose 16) zurück, bei welchem der Hohepriester des Volkes Israel vor Gott alle Sünden und Vergehen des Volkes bekennt und diese unter Handauflegen auf einen Ziegenbock überträgt. So wird der Ziegenbock zum "Sündenbock" für das Volk Israel (3. Mose 16, 20ff.). Anschließend wird das Tier wortwörtlich "in die Wüste geschickt," damit es die aufgeladenen Sünden weit fort trage. Dieser "Eliminationsritus," wie er im Alten Testament in 3. Mose 16 beschrieben wird, ist Gegenstand dieser Arbeit. Nach einer literarkritischen und formgeschichtlichen Annäherung an das Ritual vom Jom Kippur, so der hebräische Name des Versöhnungstages, wird dann im Wesentlichen der Sündenbockritus mit seinen unterschiedlichen Facetten und unter verschiedenen Blickwinkeln verstärkt in das Zentrum der Untersuchungen treten. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt dieser Arbeit liegt in der Untersuchung der Intertextualität von 3. Mose 16. Dementsprechend wird der Frage nachgegangen, inwiefern sich ein solcher Eliminationsritus wie der am großen Versöhnungstag auch an anderen Stellen des Alten Testaments wieder findet.
