Assassins slip through the night as they complete a deadly mission in Colorado. At the behest of their power hungry and brilliant commander, Robespierre, they accomplish their task. They weren't quick enough, however, to stop their target from sending a packet of clues that could expose their plans and save millions of lives.
Grace and Noah Ferguson have never heard of Robespierre or the ruthless secret society he leads, the Blackhammer Fist. All Grace is worried about is keeping Noah out of trouble and finding a way to stay with their foster family. Ever since their parents mysteriously vanished, the two have bounced from home to home. But when the Blackhammer Fist tracks the parcel of clues to their house, Grace and Noah will uncover a shocking international plot as they run for their lives.
The siblings team up with Gulliver Nestor, an eccentric inventor, to help find the pieces of the Text, a mysterious tome at the heart of a multi-billion dollar deal that threatens the world with environmental disaster. Grace and Noah must use all their cunning and bravery to find each of the Caretakers, protectors of the chapters of the ancient document, and prevent Robespierre from unleashing a global catastrophe.
