We re-join our heroes on their quest as they attempt to retrieve the Elentar, that most fabled and revered of druid artefacts and of grave importance to one member of the party - the druid, Carant Lanthris. Having returned once more to his homeland of the Forest of Borzja, Carant is summoned by the spirits of the forest, who warn him of dangers yet to come and tell him of his own role and that of the Elentar in the fate of the world.
As the six-strong party journeys onwards to the Fourth Magic Kingdom of Dubros, hoping to retrieve the Elentar from the depths of its once great palace, they are unaware of many big changes happening in the world around them. Hingril Frostbeard, king of all Rozkia, is forced to declare war on his own kind after the northern dwarves are bewitched by a mysterious green gem. Meanwhile, Glorhelm's brother, Dalehelm, battles to protect the people of Sormina from the impending darkness, while elves throughout the kingdom abandon their isolated posts and return to their homelands. However, Glorhelm's father, Arnhelm, King of Sormina, hides in fear from a prophecy that promises to usher in the End of Days.
The witch Rozeka has also uncovered a mystery in her homeland of Gladewater - strange accidents are befalling the townspeople and Rozeka's new charge, a young girl called Jarelka, speaks of a monster.
Worlds away, Princess Faro, with the help of Payadanian, has woken up and learns that the darkness has taken the form of her father, Baron Fro, whose new master vows to unleash hell on the Seven Kingdoms. Determined not to be a bystander in her own tale, the Princess has escaped her tower prison and is embarking on a quest of her own.
Can the party retrieve the Elentar, end the eternal winter and unite the people of the Seven Kingdoms against the darkness before it's too late?
