Während dieses dynamischen Weiterentwicklungsprozesses der Anwendung von Elektronik blieben jedoch die Entwicklungen in deren Herstellung teilweise dahinter zurück. So ist im Bereich der gedruckten Elektronik heute noch immer das Siebdruckverfahren vorherrschend. Diese Arbeit schlägt ein digitales Verfahren zum Druck von Elektronik, genauer von keramischen Mikrohybrid-Schaltungen, vor: Die Elektrofotografie, besser bekannt und weit verbreitet unter der Bezeichnung "Laserdruck". Der Prozess basiert auf einem rotierenden Fotoleiter, der zunächst homogen geladen und mittels einer Lichtquelle (Laser oder LEDs) selektiv entladen wird. Dadurch entsteht ein latentes Bild, das anschließend mit Toner eingefärbt wird. Der so angeordnete Toner wird auf ein Substrat übertragen und dort anschließend fixiert. Dabei steht jedoch der Druck leitfähiger Partikel im Konflikt zu den physikalischen Prinzipien des Prozesses, da die Tonerpartikel im elektrofotografischen Prozess isolierend sein müssen. Um dies zu erreichen, wird im Rahmen dieser Arbeit ein Verfahren zum Coating von Silberpartikeln mit einem Polymer entwickelt, dass im Vorfeld der eigentlichen Tonerproduktion angewandt wird. Dadurch werden diese zunächst isoliert und erlangen beim später erfolgenden Sinterprozess nach dem Verbrennen des Polymers ihre Leitfähigkeit zurück. Die so erzeugten Toner werden charakterisiert und bezüglich ihrer Eignung im elektrofotografischen Prozess evaluiert. About the Author: Nach seiner Ausbildung zum Offizier der Luftwaffe hat Dustin Büttner Maschinenbau mit der Vertiefungsrichtung Automatisierungstechnik an der Helmut-Schmidt-Universität in Hamburg und an der Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Kalifornien, studiert. Nach einer Führungsverwendung innerhalb der Luftwaffe kehrte er als Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an seine Alma Mater zurück, um in einem industriegeförderten Projekt die Möglichkeiten der Elektrofotografie (Laserdruck) für die Herstellung elektronischer Schaltungen zu untersuchen. Anschließend war er als Dezernent für Ingenieurwissenschaften in der wissenschaftlichen Zukunftsanalyse der Bundeswehr eingesetzt. Zurzeit beschäftigt er sich mit der Abstimmung der strategischen Planung der Bundeswehr mit derjenigen von NATO und EU im Planungsamt der Bundeswehr.
