El mundo de ocho espacios, libro primero, novela ganadora en su edición impresa del Premio como Mejor Libro de Narrativa Publicado en México en el año 2009, es la primera novela del autor mexicano Jaime Romero Robledo, con la cual inicia su serie novelística El mundo de ocho espacios. Este libro, de acuerdo a elogiosas palabras de diferentes autores y críticos reconocidos, es una novela asombrosa por su originalidad, tanto en el arte narrativo y el tratamiento del lenguaje, como por su estructura, que recuerda lo mejor de autores como Jorge Luis Borges, Julio Cortázar, Italo Calvino, Guillermo Cabrera Infante, Aldous Huxley, entre otros. Lleno de múltiples influencias literarias y fílmicas, sus páginas muestran paisajes de la realidad contemporánea y los posibles futuros, así como los laberintos y mutaciones de la mente individual y colectiva (recordánonos al famoso I Ching), todo ello visto a través de juegos de lenguaje, distopías, pasajes oníricos, prosa poética, erotismo y un fino humor. Sus relatos fragmentarios van formando un todo por lo cual el Jurado del Premio Bellas Artes de Narrativa Colima para Obra Publicada (otorgado en 2010 al mejor libro de Narrativa Publicado en México el año anterior), compuesto por Mario Bellatin, Pablo Soler Frost y Tomás Granados "decidió otorgar el Premio a este libro debido a la originalidad de su estructura y de su lenguaje y por la congruencia de su desarrollo. Es un libro con pocos antecedentes en la literatura mexicana y por su propia estructura augura una notable expansión lingüística y narrativa que no se agota en este volumen". About the Author: Jaime Romero Robledo nace de causas naturales en 1974, en la ciudad de Chihuahua, México. En segundo de primaria sin querer gana un premio municipal de cuento infantil. En 1998, ya un poco más grande, deja su título de ingeniero civil para dedicarse a las letras y obtiene el Premio Chihuahua de literatura por Los cuentos de la mujer perdida. Le brindan la oportunidad de obtener una maestría en literatura hispanoamericana en la Universidad Estatal de Nuevo México, EUA. En 2003 con una residencia artísica en Nueva York termina su primera novela El mundo de ocho espacios, libro primero, publicada en 2009, que en 2010 obtiene el Premio como mejor libro de narrativa publicado el año anterior en México (Premio Bellas Artes de Narrativa Colima para Obra Publicada 2010). Es autor del libro de relatos de lectura múltiple La frontera de metal. Mientras termina unas novelas de la serie El mundo de ocho espacios, tiene un permiso de ausencia en una carrera en diseño de juegos.
