El Marqués de Bradomín. Coloquios románticos es una obra de teatro escrita por Ramón María del Valle-Inclán y estrenada en 1906. Es una adaptación parcial de su novela Sonata de otoño, publicada cinco años antes, y recrea las aventuras del marqués de Bradomín, personaje valleinclanesco que representa a un aristócrata y mujeriego, inspirado en el general carlista Carlos Calderón.

Ramón María del Valle-InclánRamón María del Valle-Inclán, (nacido el 28 de octubre de 1866 en Villanueva de Arosa, España; fallecido el 5 de enero de 1936 en Santiago de Compostela), novelista, dramaturgo y poeta español que combinó un uso sensual del lenguaje con amargura social. sátira .

Valle-Inclán se crió en la Galicia rural y, tras estudiar derecho y visitar la Ciudad de México, se instaló en Madrid, donde se hizo conocido por su colorida personalidad. Pronto estuvo bajo la influencia simbolista francesa, y sus primeras obras notables, las cuatro novelas conocidas como las Sonatas (1902-05), presentan unaprosabellamente evocadora y un tono de decadencia refinada y elegante. Narran las seducciones y otros hechos de un mujeriego gallego que es en parte una figura autobiográfica. En sus obras posteriores Valle-Inclán desarrolló un estilo rico en atractivo tanto popular como literario, como en varias obras de teatro protagonizadas por el patriarcal Don Juan Manuel de Montenegro y su prole de hijos salvajes.

Algunas de las últimas obras de teatro y novelas de Valle-Inclán están en la forma que él llamó esperpento ("personas o cosas horribles y nauseabundas"). Este estilo intencionalmente absurdo y cruelmente satírico pretende expresar el trágico sentido de la vida española -que él vio como una burda deformación de la civilización europea- mediante la distorsión sistemática de los héroes clásicos. Las mejores de sus obras de esperpento son Luces de Bohemia (1920) y Los cuernos de Don Friolera (1921). Sus principales novelas del período posterior incluyen dos obras, La corte de los milagros (1927) y Viva mi dueño (1928), así como una inacabada, Baza de espadas.(1958), que formaban parte de un ciclo inconcluso de nueve volúmenes de novelas históricas titulado colectivamente El ruedo ibérico (1927-28); las obras terminadas tratan sobre la corrupción política y la degradación social de la España de finales del siglo XIX. La novela de Valle-Inclán Tirano Banderas (1926) es un vívido retrato de un déspota latinoamericano .
