En 'El Ciclo del Alma' conoceremos el segundo principio: la reencarnación o el renacer. Jozef Rulof recibió del espíritu Lantos esta formidable novela en tres partes. En la primera parte, Lantos cuenta su última vida en la tierra, que tuvo lugar en Francia durante la Edad Media. Ya de niño destaca su sensibilidad "innata" por el arte. Se convierte en un célebre escultor, pero no es feliz porque no puede compartir su vida con Marianne, su amada amiga de la infancia. Cuando vuelve a ver a Marianne en circunstancias difíciles comete un grave crimen. Da con sus huesos en el calabozo. Por el agotamiento de su cuerpo, adquiere en la cárcel una progresiva sensibilidad hacia el mundo invisible. Las inteligencias tenebrosas de la vida después de la muerte lo convencen de que se suicide, haciéndole creer que eso lo redimirá de su sufrimiento terrenal. El suicidio lo sumó en una profunda miseria. Como espíritu se ve obligado a experimentar que a pesar de haber podido destruir su cuerpo, no pudo destruir su propia vida. Sigue viviendo como espíritu, pero queda encadenado a su cuerpo terrenal, porque quiso adelantar, por su propia cuenta, el momento cósmico de su muerte. Lantos describe en el libro los padecimientos insoportables que de esta manera se ha causado a sí mismo. El dolor terrenal no es nada en comparación con lo que tiene que vivir por haberse suicidado. Y cuando llegan a su fin sus padecimientos, solo lo mueve una cosa: conseguir que el hombre en la tierra llegue a conocer esta realidad espiritual para evitar sufrimientos innecesarios. En la segunda parte, que tiene como subtítulo 'La vida espiritual', Lantos describe su "paseo" por la tierra, siglo tras siglo, para conocer al hombre y salvaguardarlo de su propia ignorancia. Relata cómo aprende a influir, en calidad de espíritu, a la gente en la tierra. Inspirándolas, consigue ayudar a muchas personas y ser su "ángel de la guarda". Además, comprueba que su propia "irradiación luminosa" aumenta a medida que brinda más amor y que él realmente significa algo para los demás en su evolución espiritual. Durante nueve siglos estudia como espíritu la vida humana en la tierra. Los conocimientos que acumula durante esos siglos los sintetiza en 'El Ciclo del Alma'. Así, por ejemplo, narra cómo el alma va al mundo de lo inconsciente, después de una vida terrenal, con el fin de prepararse para volver a nacer. En este mundo los sentimientos se sosiegan, evitando así que las experiencias de la vida anterior estorben el desarrollo del embrión en la nueva vida. Lantos cuenta cómo el alma se conecta con la nueva célula en el momento de la fecundación. Lantos muestra al lector cómo vive el hombre en las consecuencias de su propio pasado. En el libro hace un análisis a fondo de la "ley de causa y efecto". De ese modo explica el origen de su propia sensibilidad por el arte, porque ve muchas vidas anteriores en las que trabajó para elevar su capacidad para crear algo hermoso. Siguiendo su propio pasado y al hombre terrenal siglo tras siglo, ve la manera en que evolucionan nuestros rasgos de carácter y el modo en que damos forma a nuestro propio futuro como resultado de nuestros actos en vidas anteriores. Lantos describe cómo esta ley sigue regresando a nuestras vidas, igual que un bumerán, hasta que recuperamos la armonía en lo que hemos dejado atrás en desarmonía. Lantos siente intensa gratitud cuando descubre la justicia de esta ley.
