En "El arte poética", Aristóteles hace una especie de guía o manual sobre como escribir una tragedia digna de llevar ese título, y sus consejos van desde la forma estilística hasta las razones y los elementos obligatorios en una obra de esta escala. Además, en la obra encontré alusiones hacia cuál debe ser la labor del poeta o del escritor al llevar a cabo la empresa de escribir una tragedia, tal como lo hizo Platón en su momento. En rasgos generales, "El arte poética" es, y me di cuenta al leerla y gracias a los comentarios hechos en clases, una, sino la primera obra de crítica literaria, ya que da reglas, formas y deberes para la confección de una buena tragedia.Uno de los puntos más relevantes dentro del texto es la idea de que "en general, la épica y la tragedia, igualmente la comedia y la ditirámbica, (...) todas vienen a ser imitaciones"(25), ya que, al ser las obras imitaciones, los escritores automáticamente pasan a ser imitadores; y he aquí el principal problema de esta forma de hacer tragedia: según Platón la imitación, aunque sea de algo real y posible, destruye la belleza de lo real al representarlo, porque al representar sólo se muestra el reflejo de las cosas, por lo que todo lo imitado resulta inverosímil. En cambio para Aristóteles la imitación, al ser válida y admisible como parte esencial de la tragedia, debe ser verosímil, debe mostrar las cosas lo más reales posibles para ayudar a que los procesos obligatorios que deben estar presentes en la tragedia ocurran óptimamente: la mímesis, la anagnórisis y la catarsis.Para abordar de lleno el tema que me lleva a realizar este comentario, el cuál es el papel que cumple la verosimilitud en el logro de la mímesis, la anagnórisis y la catarsis, enfocándome en la tragedia como fenómeno social, voy a dividir mi reflexión en tres partes para concentrarme en cada uno de los puntos por separado, y luego unirlos al llegar a mi conclusión.La mímesis requiere absolutamente de verosimilitud, ya que mímesis es imitación, y si se imita algo real de forma real, el público siente este entorno trágico y los problemas de los héroes como cercanos, como problemas que los podrían afectar a ellos en cualquier momento. Pero esa identificación ocurrirá sólo si la imitación del problema verdadero es creíble, aunque "en todo caso, más vale elegir cosas naturalmente imposibles con tal que parezcan verosímiles, que las posibles si parecen increíbles"(77), enunciado que me hace pensar en cómo el público se da la libertad de ser engañado y de identificarse con situaciones maravillosas.Hablando ahora acerca de la anagnórisis, si esta es causada por un rayo divino o por algún hecho sobrenatural no dará la opción al espectador para conmoverse o acongojarse ante el sufrimiento o la culpa que siente el héroe al reconocer por sí mismo su error, cosa que es más real que los ejemplos descritos anteriormente. Por lo tanto si la anagnórisis se da de forma real, de forma no ficcionaria, o sea, verosímilmente, entonces el público podrá dar el paso hacia el siguiente nivel que describiré a continuación.La catarsis es, según mi opinión, la parte más importante de la tragedia como elemento social, ya que lleva al público a sufrir una purga de sus pecados, y a conmoverse y aprender de los visto en escena. Para reafirmar mi idea de que es la parte esencial de la tragedia, puedo decir que los otros dos niveles anteriormente descritos no son sino escaleras para llegar a esta parte del juego; si todas las partes juntas son verosímiles, verdaderas, entonces la catarsis y por consiguiente la purga de pecados por parte del público es también verdadera, y cumple su función desde el interior del espectador.En conclusión, si la tragedia no es verosímil desde el principio, y no se mantiene verosímil hasta el final, entonces el público no tendrá la posibilidad de identificarse con los personajes y las situaciones representadas en escena, por
