Examensarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich Didaktik - BWL, Wirtschaftspädagogik, Note: 12 Punkte, Studienseminar für Gymnasien in Kassel, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Das Europäische Portfolio der Sprachen (EPS) ist ein viel diskutiertes Instrument, welches die Sprachenvielfalt und die Mehrsprachigkeit der Menschen in Europa fördern soll. Bereits 1991 wurde die Ausarbeitung des EPS durch den Europarat beschlossen. Zwischen 1998 und 2000 wurden in 15 Ländern und Regionen Europas Portfolio-Fassungen für verschiedene Zielgruppen bzw. Altersstufen und Sprachen erprobt. In Deutschland wurde bereits Ende 1998 das Konzept des EPS in Hamburg vorgestellt. Inzwischen hat sich das EPS in einigen Bundesländern etabliert, z. B. die Europaschulen des Landes Hessen unterstützen mit diesem Dokument das Sprachenlernen und -lehren. Mittlerweile gibt es viele unterschiedliche Portfolio-modelle, welche den Kriterien des Europarates entsprechen und auch von diesem akkreditiert wurden. Jedes EPS besteht aus drei Teilen: dem Sprachenpass, dem Dossier und der Sprachenbiografie. Der Sprachenpass dokumentiert erreichte Kompetenzen in sämtlichen Sprachen, über die die Lernenden verfügen. Er kann bei Bewerbungen oder bei einem Schulwechsel verwendet werden und vermittelt einen über die Zeugnisnoten hinausgehenden Einblick in die Sprachkompetenz der Lernenden. Die Daten aus der Sprachenbiografie werden anschließend in den Sprachenpass übertragen. Er gilt europaweit als offizielles Dokument der Mehrsprachigkeit. Das Dossier ist eine Art "Sammelmappe" sprachlicher Lernergebnisse, die von den Lernenden selbst zusammengestellt wird und die geeignet ist, erworbene Kompetenzen festzuhalten. So können z. B. Projekte, Zeugnisse, Bescheinigungen oder Zertifikate im Dossier aufbewahrt werden und dienen ebenfalls beim Übergang in eine andere Schule sowie bei Bewerbungen.
