Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Schulpädagogik, Note: 1,3, Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster (Erziehungswissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Lernen und Lehren im Zeitalter des Internets, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im heutigen Informationszeitalter ist das Internet zum wohl größten und wichtigsten Medium der Datenvermittlung überhaupt geworden. Oft wird es als "'Weltgehirn'" oder "'Datenbank des Weltwissens'" bezeichnet. In diesem Zusammenhang sind die Bemühungen von Experten, dieses Medium auch im Rahmen des Wissenserwerbs an Schulen zu nutzen, durchaus nachvollziehbar. Seinen Beitrag hierzu leistete Bernie Dodge, Professor an der Universität San Diego, als er im Jahr 1995 die didaktische Methode Webquest entwickelte. Dodge versteht hierunter "eine explorative Tätigkeit, in der die Informationen, mit denen sich die Lernenden auseinandersetzen, teilweise oder vollständig aus Internetquellen" herrühren. Schnell fand diese neue didaktische Methode, die "den sinnvollen Einsatz des Internets als Informationsquelle" ermöglichen soll, Verbreitung. Der Medienpädagoge Heinz Moser entwickelte sie schließlich für den deutschsprachigen Raum weiter. Die allgemeine Struktur eines Webquests ist einfach darzustellen. Solch ein "Lernabenteuer" gliedert sich in sechs Teilschritte: Beim ersten, dem Punkt Thema, wird die Thematik des Webquests möglichst motivierend dargestellt. Daraufhin folgt eine möglichst konkrete Aufgabenstellung für die Lernenden. Im Anschluss werden den Lernenden die Ressourcen zum Lösen der Aufgabenstellung vorgestellt. Es kann sich hierbei um Hyperlinks als auch Fachbücher oder Software- CDs handeln. Im vierten Schritt des Webquests, dem Prozess, arbeiten die Lernenden an ihren Aufgaben, der Lehrer übernimmt hierbei eine Art Beraterrolle.
