Inhaltsangabe: Einleitung: "Also, bevor wir jetzt anfangen, über Personalrekrutierung zu reden, will ich Ihnen mal eines sagen: Beziehungen sind das A und O." Zitat aus einem Interview. Das einleitende Zitat soll den Leser nicht verunsichern. Zwar bestärkt es den common sense in der Bevölkerung, man müsse stets nur die richtigen Leute kennen, um seinen Zielen näher zu kommen, es ist jedoch eine differenziertere Betrachtungsweise notwendig, die pauschale Aussagen wieder relativiert. Die vorliegende Studie folgt dieser Aufgabe. Mit der Untersuchung werden zwei Personengruppen angesprochen. Zum einen die "Praktiker", zum anderen die "Theoretiker". Eine solche Zweiteilung erklärt unter anderem den Umfang der Studie. Mit Praktiker sind Personen gemeint, die z. B. im Rahmen des Personalwesens, der Soziologie oder der Betriebswirtschaftslehre einen inhaltlich verwertbaren und umsetzbaren Nutzen für ihr Berufsleben, sei es im Rahmen ihrer Berufstätigkeit oder für die persönliche Karriereplanung, verbuchen können. Für diese Leser soll der ausführliche Methodenteil als Garant für wissenschaftliches und empirisch fundiertes Arbeiten dienen, aus Zeitgründen könnten sie sich jedoch auf den dritten Teil, die Auswertung, konzentrieren. Mit dem Subjekt "Theoretiker" seien hier Studenten und Forscher betitelt, die sich mit qualitativer Inhaltsanalyse, Expertengesprächen und vor allem auch dem Analyseprogramm WINMAX beschäftigen. Die derzeit noch relativ unbekannte Software findet - zumindest im akademischen Umfeld der Universität Augsburg - immer mehr Gönner. Für diese zweite Personengruppe kann das Thema "soziales Kapital" als exemplarisches Beispiel für die Erhebung und Auswertung qualitativer Daten bzw. deren Analyse mit WINMAX dienen. Gleichwohl werden die Ergebnisse ebenfalls für Forscher und vor allem auch für Studenten interessant sein.
