Dabei wird der Fragestellung, welchen Einfluss die auf Instagram verbreiteten Informationsquellen auf das Ernährungsverhalten von jungen Erwachsenen haben, nachgegangen. Um die oben aufgeführte Forschungsfrage beantworten zu können, wurden umfangreiche Literaturrecherchen in verschiedenen Fachdatenbanken und Fachzeitschriften durchgeführt. Zum Thema passende Literatur wird in einzelnen Tabellen, mit jeweiligem Begleittext dargestellt. Verschiedene Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die zu Beginn gestellte Forschungsfrage überwiegend positiv beantwortet werden kann. Durch die häufige Verwendung von Sozialen Medien kann das Ernährungsverhalten der jüngeren Generation enorm beeinflusst werden. Zum einen können sogenannte Influencer als Vorbilder dienen und durch ihre Beiträge, die Follower zum Sport treiben und gesunder Ernährung motivieren. Auf der anderen Seite kann der entstandene Druck, durch vermittelte Schönheitsideale, eine extreme Belastung für junge Menschen darstellen. Besonders in den letzten Jahren ist die Nutzungsdauer von sozialen Netzwerken stark gestiegen und zeigt ein höheres Einflusspotenzial. Aus den Ergebnissen geht hervor, dass soziale Medien eine Möglichkeit darstellen, junge Menschen gut zu erreichen, sie zu motivieren und sowohl deren Interessen, als auch ihr Selbstbewusstsein zu stärken und Selbstkontrolle zu beginnen. Diese Bachelorarbeit dient als gute Grundlage für weitere Forschungsarbeiten auf diesem Gebiet.
