Doch was ist eigentlich Motivation und von welchen Faktoren ist sie abhängig? Diesen Fragen geht diese Arbeit nach und versucht zu erklären, inwieweit sich verschiedene Motive von Auszubildenden und die jeweils korrespondierenden Motivierungspotenziale ihrer Tätigkeit auf die Motivation von Auszubildenden auswirken. Ein Verständnis über diese Zusammenhänge von persönlichen Motiven von Auszubildenden und den Motivierungspotenzialen, welche ihre Tätigkeiten mit sich bringen, ist von großer Bedeutung, insbesondere wenn es darum geht, Ausbildungsarrangements zu gestalten. Dabei kann eine solche Betrachtungsweise auch dazu führen, dass vom Auszubildenden nicht immer mehr gefordert wird, sondern unter Umständen auch darüber nachgedacht wird, welche anderen Einflüsse sich neben den spezifischen personenbezogenen Größen auf die Motivation auswirken. Eine Analyse dieser Strukturen bietet schließlich eine Grundlage, um Ausbildungssituationen zu verbessern. Die Hauptaufgabe dieser Arbeit in diesem Kontext ist die Operationalisierung der persönlichen Motive und ihrer Motivierungspotenziale. Diese Operationalisierung wird im Rahmen einer Sekundärdatenanalyse durchgeführt. Die Daten stammen aus einer Studie der Universität Bamberg, in der die Ausbildungssituation bei der ZF Sachs AG untersucht wurde. Aufgrund der vorliegenden Datenlage und den Restriktionen bezüglich des Umfangs der Arbeit werden sich die Betrachtungen dieser Arbeit auf das Leistungs- und Anschlussmotiv, sowie auf das leistungsthematische- und anschlussthematische Motivierungspotenzial und ihre Auswirkungen auf die Motivation beschränken.
