Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Wissenschaftstheorie, Anthropologie, Note: 2,3, FernUniversität Hagen, Veranstaltung: Empirische Bildungsforschung, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die inzwischen in der breiten Öffentlichkeit bekannten PISA-Studien und deren Ergebnisse wurden zu drei Zeitpunkten erhoben: 2000, 2003 und 2006 mit jeweils einem Schwerpunkt. Die zweite PISA-Studie im Jahr 2003 legte den Schwerpunkt auf Mathematik. Die Ergebnisse der Mathematikleistungen deutscher Schü-ler/innen wurden in der Öffentlichkeit und in Fachkreisen intensiv diskutiert. PISA ist eine internationale Schulleistungsstudie der OECD-Mitgliedsländer, die Schüler/innen am Ende der Pflichtschulzeit (im Alter von meist 15 Jahren) im Hinblick auf Kenntnisse und Fertigkeiten, die zu einer Teilhabe an einer Wissens-gesellschaft unerlässlich sind, untersucht. Deutschland liegt in der Untersuchung der Mathematikkompetenz 2003 im Durch-schnitt aller OECD Staaten (Prenzel et. al., 2004). Im Vergleich dazu liegt Norwe-gen knapp unter dem OECD Durchschnitt. Die grundlegenden Kenntnisse von Mathematik werden im Alltag vorausgesetzt und ohne diese ist ein Leben in einer Wissensgesellschaft nicht denkbar. In fast al-len Berufen wird man mit der Voraussetzung von Mathematik-Grundkenntnissen konfrontiert. Die zentrale Bedeutung von Naturwissenschaften, Mathematik und Technologien in den modernen Gesellschaften machen gute bis sehr gute mathe-matische Kompetenzen unumgänglich. Gleichzeitig ist gerade das Fach Mathema-tik oft mit starken Lernschwierigkeiten auf Schülerseite verbunden (Krauthausen, 2006). Die nur im Durchschnitt liegenden Ergebnisse von deutschen Schülern ha-ben viele Fragen nach Verbesserung dieser Ergebnisse hervor gerufen. Diese Arbeit beleuchtet eine mögliche Ursache für die aktuellen Ergebnisse der PISA-Studie aus dem Jahr 2003, nämlich den Faktor der Lernmotivation und der selbst- und fachbezogenen Kognitionen auf die Mathematikleistung.
