Denn: Wie definiert man den "richtigen" Beruf für sich? Ist der beste Beruf der, der auf Tätigkeiten basiert, die man am besten kann, die einen am meisten interessieren oder die, in denen man das meiste Geld mit den zur Verfügung stehenden Ressourcen verdienen kann? Einer Studie von Gallup zufolge arbeiteten im Jahr 2009 über 66% der Deutschen lediglich in einem Beruf, um Geld zu verdienen. Nur 11% der Deutschen gaben an, ihrem Beruf aus Leidenschaft nachzugehen und sogar 23% waren so unzufrieden mit ihrer Arbeit, dass sie kündigen würden. (vgl. Kauffeld, 2011) Doch nicht nur für den Arbeitnehmer ist dies ein schwieriger Prozess. Auch für den Arbeitgeber ist es nicht einfach, sich für einen neuen Mitarbeiter zu entscheiden. Denn heutzutage sind die Mitarbeiter eines Unternehmens oft der entscheidende Erfolgsfaktor. (vgl. Jansen, 2012) Eine Fehlbesetzung kostet das Unternehmen viel Geld und Arbeitsaufwand. Daher ist es wichtig, den "richtigen" Kandidaten auszuwählen. Unternehmen sollten sich also vor der Besetzung einer vakanten Stelle um einen möglichst großen Passungsgrad zwischen Bewerber und den Anforderungen der freien Stelle bemühen. Doch wie findet man den Bewerber, der am besten geeignet ist, den Beruf langfristig erfolgreich auszuführen? Schon Wilhelm von Humboldt bemerkte im 18. Jahrhundert: "Nie ist das menschliche Gemüt heiterer gestimmt, als wenn es seine richtige Arbeit gefunden hat." Ein Ziel der Eignungsdiagnostik ist es, Personen ausfindig zu machen, die eine hohe Passung zwischen Persönlichkeit und Beruf aufweisen und sie dient der Erstellung von Erfolgsprognosen zur Unterstützung bzw.
