Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2002 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Medienethik, Note: 2,0, Universität Siegen (FB 3), Veranstaltung: Medienethik, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Medien berichteten in den letzten Wochen über das Beziehungsgeflecht zwischen dem PR-Berater und Wirtschaftslobbyisten Moritz Hunzinger und führenden Politikern. Diese Veröffentlichungen kosteten letztendlich den damaligen Verteidigungsminister Scharping das Amt. Gleichzeitig wurde eine Debatte über Moral in der PR-Branche ausgelöst und Hunzinger vorgeworfen, entgegen den ethischen Grundsätzen der Branche, Politiker mit Hilfe von finanziellen Zuwendungen und kostenlosen Image- Beratungen für persönliche Zwecke instrumentalisiert und seinen Kunden (mitunter Unternehmen der Rüstungsindustrie) Vorteile erschafft zu haben. Aufgrund dieser Begebenheiten wurde der Ruf nach klareren Richtlinien speziell im Tätigkeitsfeld des Lobbyismus laut und eine Errichtung eines Verhaltenskodexes gefordert. In den Medienberichten wurde jedoch kaum erwähnt, dass Kodizes, die der freiwilligen Selbstkontrolle der Branchenvertreter dienen sollen, längst existieren und deren Einhaltung durch ein von Branchenverbänden berufenes Gremium überwacht wird. Inwieweit diese Kodizes ein geeignetes Mittel sind, einen speziellen Vorfall wie den oben erwähnten zu verhindern bzw. zu ahnden, möchte ich in dieser Arbeit untersuchen. Dazu kläre ich im folgenden Kapitel die Begriffe Moral, Recht und Ethik als Grundlagen und grenze den Lobbyismus vom Tätigkeitsfeld der PR ab. Im zweiten Kapitel erläutere ich das Aufgabengebiet des Deutsche Rats der Public Relations (DRPR) als Institution der freiwilligen Selbstkontrolle, zeige die Kodizes, die ihm als Bewertungsmaßstab zugrunde liegen auf und bewerte diese. Die beiden folgenden Kapitel legen schließlich den Fall Hunzinger dar, erläutern das Handeln des PR-Rats und klären, ob Kodizes als Gradmesser zur Bewertung eines Fehlverhaltens und als Richtlinien für moralisches Handeln üb
