About the Book

Education in America is no longer education. It has evolved into a political, economic, and social concept where real education ideas and plans are given last thought or consideration, if any. These policies have thrown education into a confused jungle with no hope for weak students to survive or escape. If education policy-makers really wanted to improve education, that task would be simple; as any problem-solving is simple. They have not identified the fundamental education problem to be solved. That problem is the lower twenty-five percent of students who are unprepared to learn, caused by family or cultural deprivation. Instead, education has been hijacked by those national leaders who are fixated to prove the idea by James Coleman that by mixing students from different cultures, the weaker cultures will be educated by what he termed, 'social capital.' This is not an education concept. And, we should not discount the possibility that politicians are not serious about improving education, as we understand what education should be. According to Thomas Jefferson, the main purpose for education should be to prevent political tyranny. Adolf Hitler once said, "Knowledge is ruin to my young men." Should it be a serious consideration that the less educated are easy targets, cannon fodder, for persuasive and convincing politicians? Are politicians only giving lip service to improve education, instead of making an honest attempt? This book explains why our current education system is dysfunctional. It also shows how to help weaker students become motivated to appreciate and seek education.
About the Author: Will Clark's author experiences began by writing inspection and evaluation reports in the U.S. Air Force. He is a retired Air Force officer and a Vietnam veteran, serving in Saigon from 1966 to 1967. His other overseas assignments include Misawa, Japan and Ankara, Turkey. He taught on-base college courses while stationed in Ankara. In 1995, as a 'Friends of Education' study skills project, he authored a book, How to Learn, to encourage students to improve their grades in DeSoto County, Mississippi. Education supporters printed and distributed four thousand copies. He also wrote a weekly education column for a local newspaper, The Desoto County Tribune, the following school year. He also taught an adult GED class. His book, How to Learn, has been updated and is now available everywhere. His next published book was School Bells and Broken Tales, a parody of nursery rhyme characters, also a motivation and education book for children. His other books include Shades of Retribution, a historical novel, and Simply Success, a motivation guide for students and employees. His latest action novel, The Atlantis Crystal, is the first of a trilogy based on Atlantis and crystals. The other two, coming soon, are: She Waits in Atlantis, and The Burning Crystal. This trilogy is based on his travels while assigned to Turkey, site of the ancient city of Troy. He is a past member of Toastmasters, a life member of Optimists International, a past Optimist Club president and a past Optimist area lieutenant governor.
