校史簡介

1745年 明儒陳獻章(世稱白沙先生),創立「白沙書院」

1970年1月 依「白沙書院」之名,取名為「白沙山莊」

1971年8月 「白沙山莊」擴建成立「臺灣省立教育學院」

1980年8月 本校改隸教育部,更名為「國立臺灣教育學院」

1989年7月 改制為「國立彰化師範大學」,設立3個學院,教育學院、科學教育學院(1993年更名為理學院)、及職業教育學院 ,共有9個學系

2000年10月 成立文學院

2002年8月 成立工學院、管理學院,職業教育學院更名為技術及職業教育學院

2004年8月 成立社會科學暨體育學院並朝向綜合大學發展

2005年8月 以轉型、卓越、國際化為目標,合力建造嶄新彰化師大

2008年8月 發展成7個學院,21個學系、44個碩士班以及15個博士班
