"Ogni racconto dell'antologia è una soluzione ecologica ai problemi delle città e anche un suggerimento per "lavorare con" invece di "lavorare contro" la natura. Nei momenti di crisi l'animale-uomo ha agito sempre secondo lo schema della fuga. Le temperature aumentano? Mi sposto a nord. Il cibo diminuisce? Cambio continente. Questo comportamento ha avuto successo finché l'umanità è vissuta in tribù di cacciatori-raccoglitori. Nel momento in cui si diventa stanziali, si fondano le città, bisogna cambiare risposta adattiva. Come i vegetali, le città non possono scappare. È il momento di azzardare comportamenti nuovi ed è più probabile che siano le persone "ai margini" della città ad abbandonare le risposte consuete, per cercare rimedi innovativi alle mutazioni ambientali." Francesco Verso (Bologna, 1973) è uno scrittore e curatore di Science Fiction. Suoi romanzi sono stati tradotti in varie lingue tra cui inglese, spagnolo, portoghese e cinese e includono: Antidoti umani, e-Doll, Livido, Zendroide (con Duan Ziqi), Bloodbusters, Futurespotting e il primo romanzo italiano ed europeo di genere solarpunk dal titolo I camminatori (composto da I Pulldogs e No/Mad/Land). Ha vinto tre premi Europa, due premi Urania, due premi Italia, un premio Odissea e un premio Galaxy per la promozione della fantascienza cinese. Nel 2014 ha fondato l'etichetta Future Fiction su cui pubblica la migliore Science Fiction mondiale, in traduzione da 14 lingue e 40 paesi diversi in forma di libri, fumetti e audiolibri. Dal 2019 è direttore creativo del Fishing Fortress Science Fiction Academy di Chongqing.
