About the Book

2022 marks the 50th anniversary of Trellick Tower which I first visited during the summer of 1987 age 13.

Back in mid 2016 I heard the wall due was to be knocked down my heart sank. I immediately got all the paint I had together and went to the site to do this special full scale homage/remake/transcrpition on the original wall. Dedicated to my hero's who painted this mural during 1987 - Rage, Rich, Cane 1 & State of Art...no limits & non stop artists crews.

This edition features exclusive pictures taken over the three days in which the 1987 mural was 'recreated/transcribed' fresh for 2017 - 30 years later .

'The Earths Edge' wall located at Trellick Towers estate, in West London(Westbourne Park Tube) is due to be demolished in 2017.

The world's largest folk-art mural remake...30 years ago in 1987 five of London's most talented groundbreaking graffiti artists created the largest scale non-commissioned mural to date in London. Arguably one of the greatest walls ever done 'The Earths Edge' mural of 1987 was re-created At Trellick Tower, on the occasion of its 30th anniversary 2017. Transcribed onto the original wall by eye using A4 print outs as visual reference.

The project was photographed by Paul Whitehouse continually over the three days from dawn into darkness. This 375 page colour book shows the painterly extravaganza transcription journey from start to finish from many varied angles and perspectives and is a great insight into the epic scale and importance of this London graffiti landmark. What the Undercroft at Southbank is to the skateboarders of London. So the site of The Earths Edge wall is in terms of historical value and contemporary importance for the graffiti artists of London past and present, the spiritual home of London writers and visiting writers from across the globe. The wall must not be demolished, if at all possible, even at this late stage... if the main back wall can be preserved in the same way as the Undercroft at Southbank... lets make this happen.

The majority of the 'remake' was done over a three day marathon painting session by long time UK graffiti artist (1985-present)/British contemporary artist James Jessop.

With a special appearance from the rain man... to recreate State of Arts infamous 'Devil' Character as only rain man... could provide the 'realness' / 'rawness' needed to honour States of arts genius and invention.

Today the remake 2017 tribute wall is unvisible, Trellick Tower 'Hall of Fame' gets repainted on a daily basis. One of the challenges Jessop faced during the remake was would the wall be painted over during the night times by other graffiti artists, before it was fully remade.

Regarding the original 1987 many writers from London think that this wall is one of the baddest(best) walls ever done .

KEEN One AWE London quoted: 'This crew never got the props yet they deserved... They were more advanced than the Crome Angels and they were 100% English... Real underground Kings of Style'.

Its dynamic manner, composition and scale like never seen before. The mural was hidden away safe behind a multi storey car park at the base of Trellick Tower. Around 2005 the mural was finally destroyed, covered by a other new generation graffiti artists own work.

The wall and its special place in Londons history is immortalised here in the pages of The Earth's Edge at Trellick Tower.Which also features some exclusive previously unseen/unblogged images of the site taken in 1987/1988
