The adventure continues in author R. P. Wollbaum's Eagles Claw, the anticipated sequel to his well-received debut, Bears and Eagles.
Minor Russian noble Andreas Bekenbaum has been richly rewarded by both the Russian and British empires for a job well done. But perhaps his biggest achievement is negotiating a land grant from the Canadian government in exchange for establishing a militia and police force in a tiny town at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
In order to claim his prize, however, Andreas will have to get there-a journey that will bring him face-to-face with Cheyenne leader Crazy Horse, a wild whiskey-trading gang, and countless other dangers.
Settling into their new home takes time and hard work. Soon enough, though, Andreas and his wife find themselves prospering and thriving. Unfortunately, their newfound peace is shattered when government officials once again send Andreas abroad in the service of his country-this time to South Africa and in the company of his eldest son, Stephan.
Culminating in a whirlwind European tour that finds Stephan facing a life-threatening crisis, Eagles Claw seamlessly explores the familial and political ties that bind.
