In dieser Dissertation werden Verfahren zur Modellierung und Optimierung von Systemen weiter entwickelt, bei denen eine Messdatengewinnung mit hohen Kosten verbunden ist. Die Arbeit entstand im Rahmen eines Projekts zum modellbasierten Online-Optimierer mbminimize, der in einem vorangegangenen Projekt zur automatisierten Basisapplikation von Verbrennungsmotoren am Prufstand entwickelt wurde und hier in seiner Funktionalitat erweitert wird. In der praktischen Anwendung stellen sich dabei weitere Herausforderungen an den Algorithmus, die in dieser Arbeit behandelt werden. Zu Beginn werden verschiedene Modellierungsmethoden vorgestellt. Die in mbminimize eingesetzten Methoden werden mit anderen Verfahren verglichen und ihre Starken und Schwachen diskutiert. Besondere Bedeutung haben hier die neuronalen Netze, die fur die Modellierung des zu untersuchenden Systems eingesetzt werden. Wichtige Aspekte wie das Training, die Regularisierung und die Fehlerabschatzung werden behandelt. Bei der Optimierung werden besonders die modellbasierte Online-Optimierung, die statistische Versuchsplanung, aktives Lernen und eine hierarchische Herangehensweise diskutiert. Durch Zusammenwirken der verschiedenen Methoden ist der modellbasierte Optimierungsalgorithmus in der Lage, Messpunkte effektiv zu platzieren. So werden der Messaufwand minimiert und die durch eine Messung gewonnene Information maximiert. Anhand des generierten Modells konnen die optimalen Bereiche der untersuchten Funktionen effizient bestimmt werden. Die Grundidee, Messzeit zu minimieren und dadurch die Kosten in der praktischen Anwendung zu reduzieren, wird in dieser Arbeit auch auf einem anderen Weg weiter verfolgt. Die Stationarwertvorhersage ermoglicht, Messzeit an einzelnen Messungen einzusparen. Bei Messgrossen, die sich nur langsam auf Veranderungen der Eingabewerte einstellen, kann die Messung unter bestimmten Umstanden fruhzeitig beendet werden, ohne das Optimierungsergebnis zu verschlechtern. In dieser Arbeit werden dazu Messverlaufe verschiedener Datenquellen untersucht und gezeigt, auf welche Weise das Verfahren fur die Motorvermessung geeignet ist. Fur die Untersuchungen mit dem mbminimize-Algorithmus wurden Daten aus der Simulation und vom Motorprufstand verwendet. Im Rahmen des Projekts, in dem diese Arbeit entstand, wurde die Software zum taglichen Einsatz am Prufstand fur Verbrennungsmotoren gebracht. Dabei eignet sich das Verfahren sowohl durch seinen theoretischen Hintergrund als auch durch seine generische Implementierung ebenfalls fur andere Anwendungsbereiche, in denen Funktionsauswertungen mit einem hohen Aufwand verbunden sind.
