About the Book

Dudley Daydreamer

Dudley Daydreamer is a story about a 10 year old boy named Dudley Heidlemeir who is overwhelmed with daydreaming. He daydreams constantly. Whether he's sitting at his desk at school, walking to and from school, sitting in his tree house, or even just riding his bicycle, Dudley's mind just seems to wander feverishly about anything and anyone. Most of the time his adventures center around many of the subjects he studies in school, or even a television program he had previously viewed.
Dudley lives in a typical neighborhood surrounded by typical friends. His parents provide him with the typical home with your typical twenty first century two parent household where both parents work the average forty hour work week. In fact Dudley is more of the typical family than your average typical family. The one thing that separates him from the other kids in the neighborhood is his vast imagination.
His imaginations can take him to far away places. They can metamorphosis him into any character or being he desires. In his world he is the one and only true being in a world that is of regular occurrences. From Alexander the Great one day, an award winning prize fighter the next, to a fifty ton Tyrannosaurus Rex the next. Dudley can be anything his heart desires. But sometimes he does not have the choice of deciding what his adventure will be. For sometimes his mind chooses those on its own.
Dudley's friends are very few. Like many eccentric young people, Dudley is considered to be a nerd. His friends are nerds. And he is treated as such. His best friend Judy is the daughter of one of his mother's friends, who set up the arrangement so that Judy would not have to walk to school alone when she started school and the arrangement has stuck ever since.
Many of the adventures Dudley goes on are taken while asleep. Whether it is at night in the solitude of his own room, or at school asleep while seated at his desk with his eyes wide open. Daydreaming to Dudley is like sports to an athlete. It just comes natural. The many Adventures of Dudley Daydreamer can take you away and experience the joys that Dudley experiences, the eras that he visits, and the excitement he feels can also be felt with you're the reader in every adventure.

About the Author

Marcus Cole was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. Most of his spare time was taken up by day dreaming and fantasizing about different places and different people. He graduated from Wabash College, which is a small, all male school in a small historical town with a degree in History. He later went on to get his Master's Degree in Business from Embry Riddle University.
He grew up in a small neighborhood in Indianapolis called Brightwood. And most all who grew up there knew one another very well. Like everyone's childhood neighborhood, there always seemed to be people whose personalities would leave long and memorable personas that you never seem to forget, and "Dudley Daydreamer" brings some of those back to life.
He has always wanted to write about kids who constantly dreamt like he did. My childhood was very adventurous. He was involved in many sports in which he also excelled to where he received a track and Field scholarship to Wabash College where he went on to earn 7 Varsity letters in not only track, but also Cross-country. One thing about running long distance it always gave him time to dream while he ran which I did quite often.
At Wabash College he ran Cross Country. And one thing about running long distance it always gave him time to day dream. His life, my ambitions, my goals and my friends can be found in the many Adventures of Dudley Daydreamer.
