IntroductionThe story revolves around the main character Max Jobber, a mechanic by trade who was recruited into a group that called themselves "The Collectors". They could be described vigilantes that worked outside the justice system. However, they were more than that, they were part of a society that had operated for thousands of years. If it were oversimplified, they would only be washing shit off the sidewalk. What they were on a cosmic level, they are akin to gardeners, taking care of the people and the planets that they existed on. At some point they began to realize that there were portals that gave them access to alternate realities and species. One of the more benevolent entities of the group, is a woman named Elizabeth. She has been a gardener for centuries. The premise of this story was loosely based on a conversation I had with retired city worker that was a friend of our family 30 years ago. The discussion came up on crime and punishment. With a weary look in his eyes he said that in the forties and fifties in British Columbia, that when they had a problem in town that wasn't going away, they would bring in a member up the policeman department from an adjoining community. The problem person would be removed and never seen if again. The character Khon is loosely based on an interview done by Ross Kemp on YouTube of an East Indian sex trafficker who had claimed to of murdered between four and five hundred girls or women over a 7-year period.In the last two chapters the reference to rebar distributed by Chinese companies through the world being contaminated with radioactive material is loosely based on a conversation I had with I retired engineering consultant. He had been hired short term to give an opinion on why the Vancouver airport foundations and concrete were generating heat and an electrical current. Excerpt one Dana Basham would be considered a very moderate Muslim from the people who knew him, they might not even know he was a Muslim. After seeing his own family and people of other ethnic groups murdered in his home country as a child. He had taken an oath to himself to protect all. He felt honored when Sam had approached him asking if he had an interest in contributing to society on a much deeper level. A level most people don't have the stomach or character for, without ever receiving recognition or financial reward. Excerpt twoWith a population of 1.2 billion it wasn't hard to hide things when you spread money around. If money wasn't enough of an incentive, then they were threatened. Both their livelihood and their families. What Chan was getting whispers of, was that the spent uranium rods from the nuclear reactors that were supposed to be going into deep underground storage in central China weren't. The rods were being cut into small pieces and added to large vats of molten steel used to make rebar. They were then sprayed with what was supposed to be a rust inhibitor, but in fact just prevented detection of radioactive material for several years. The rebar was then shipped overseas to foreign countries throughout the world at a discounted price to be used in construction.
