About the Book

The study on Ambedkar's role in shaping Indian human rights as laid down in the Indian constitution is quite comprehensive, educative and informative. The evolution and nature of the human rights has been examined thoroughly and painstakingly from a historical perspective. Various international human rights declarations, covenants, conventions, and various provisions of the Indian Constitution relating to human rights, and various provisions of the Indian Constitution relating to human rights, and various judgments of the courts have been appropriately and correctly taken into consideration while dealing the subject under focus. The study highlights Dr. Ambedkar's quest for human rights, his struggle for social emancipation and for the upliftment of the downtrodden and their liberation from the social evils, and his thrust for women's emancipation from the orthodox Hindu society. His prolonged social struggle against the orthodox Hindu social order, and caste system before the British government as well as the Indian andti-Dalit leaders is a historical fact. Further, his role as national, political, opposition, and Depressed Classes leader, Cabinet Minister, Viceroy Member, Constitution maker, and his vision for India make him one of the greatest and unparallaled leaders of India in the 20th century. About the Author Didla Venkateswara Rao did his Master of Commerce in Co-operation and Rural Development and Master of Laws in International Law, from the Nagarjuna and Andhra Universities respectively.
