About the Book

A collection of my poetry, autobiography of my life's journey, poetry of other members of my family, including sermons from the early 1900's, and 'significant other' writings that have influenced my life, helping me to become the person I was meant to be. It is inspirational, heart-warming, and my 'tall tales'/miracles, i.e.that will bring laughter and tears to an 'open heart and mind!
About the Author: Becky Williams Buckman grew up in the small community of Woodstock, Georgia, north of Atlanta. She received her education at Methodist Colleges in Georgia, getting her Master's degree in Christian Education, at Candler School of Theology at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. She began her writing career at a very early age - it continued through high school, college and in her career as an educator. In the 'evening' of her life she began writing poetry, and telling her life stories/miracles that have made her who she is today. For years people have told her she should write a book. She has now done that! Her talent came 'down the line' as the Title of her book indicates. She is a published poet and free lancer; she owns her own Music Business, teaching piano and attends concerts of all genres weekly. Ms. Buckman is a member of the Summerville Writers Guild, Bethany United Methodist Church, in Summerville, South Carolina, where she volunteers in the many varied ministries. She was honored as the first widow to receive the 'Ham and Eggs Award' in the world-wide ministry of United Marriage Encounter in 2011. She and her husband had devoted over twenty-five years of their marriage to helping married couples take their love relationship to a higher level of life. They were the co-founders of that ministry in Okinawa, Japan in 1985. Ms. Buckman served as a Certified Director of Christian Education in many Methodist Churches in Georgia; she was the Kindergarten Teacher, and Director of Holy Trinity Lutheran School in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the Music Teacher at Trinity Classical Academy in Summerville, South Carolina. Her hobbies include dancing, flower gardening, scrapbooking, baking, playing the piano, singing, and visiting the elderly. Life for her, is a 'party' - every day is a 'precious moment' to be treasured and shared with those whom she meets along the pathway of life! She truly bloooms where she is planted. God is her co-pilot. She gives him credit for all that she is, and all that she does!
