About the Book

A book on eCommerce, written before and after the Internet crash. A critical, comprehensive primer for anyone building a business in the era of 21st Century electronic commerce. A "must," though easy-read; at points entertaining; richly informative.
About the Author: R. Fulton Macdonald has over forty years experience in a wide array of business development and leadership assignments. He has been an early practitioner of the blending of Arts and Science in the practice of business development and has taught strategy formulation at the graduate school level at both Columbia and New York Universities. In an article in Catalog Showroom Business in the late 1970's he forecast the coming of eCommerce, projecting a transformational impact by the turn of the Century, while outlining an unfoldment that would take at least twenty-five years -- much as the automobile replaced the horse and buggy between 1900 and 1925. Early in his career, Mr. Macdonald served in the U.S. Army including combat assignments in Vietnam where he won the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service. He has worked at Brown Brothers Harriman, and John Wanamaker, Inc. and was a Principal at Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc., the international consultancy. Currently be serves as Chairman Emeritus of International Business Development (IBD) Corporation, a consulting and business development boutique as well as Global Fashion CloseOuts.com, Inc. He has also acted as advisor --counselor to hundreds of companies and individuals around tbe globe. Macdonald has consulted on advanced interactive technologies to NYNEX/Bell Atlantic, Dupont, Microsoft, Time Warner, QVC and scores of Silicon Valley and Silicon Alley companies. He has been listed in several who's who publications including Who's Who in Finance & Industry, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the World. He has a BA from PENN, received his MBA from the Wharton School, and did post graduate work at Stanford University. He holds an honorary Ph.D.
