Cargó con nuestros pecados, y sufrió, no la primera muerte que no le correspondía, sino la segunda muerte, en nuestro lugar, la paga de nuestro pecado que cayó sobre el inocente, para que nosotros fuésemos declarados justos y salvados por su sangre. Al contrario de la primera muerte que no implica separación de Dios, la segunda muerte es el juicio y condenación eterna y la separación total de Dios.
