La storia inizia con l'annuncio di Lady Graham dell'imminente ritorno dell'inafferrabile Sir Robert Graham e termina quando Sir Robert entra in casa. Quello che succede nel mezzo è più del solito "Molto ado su nulla". L'ultimo, un regalo di Mr. Macfayden, un magnate giardiniere del paesaggio, seguito a breve da una proposta e accettazione del matrimonio.
