The Second World War was over. In the aftermath, the United States rose to become the most powerful, advanced and wealthy country in the world. It became the main producer of every commercial product with an unlimited world market and virtually no competitors. The most advanced industries, technology, engineers and scientists were all housed in the U.S. It was a country united by feelings of patriotism and pride for its victory...Yet just one generation later, we've found ourselves in a vastly different country. The debt clock approaches 20 trillion dollars while almost 50 million people live on food stamps. We have been subjected to brutal attacks on our territory and new crimes occur every minute. The country is divided into feuding groups and is filled with unpatriotic, unqualified, and ignorant immigrants. We depend on foreign supplies while domestic industries are in decline. Drug abuse is reaching catastrophic proportions while our educational, scientific, core values continue to erode... This kind of decline looks like a collapse. Democrats and Republicans will blame it on internal and external stimuli, blaming each other. However, this does not change the result and does not provide hope for the future.Six Democratic and six Republican presidents elected during the post-war period could not stop this decline. Even short-term success of some of these presidents due to their policies and favorable circumstances has not been developed by their successors whose main goal is to further their party's interests. Leading politicians never lose in these political games. Regardless of the results, they keep their profits and just redistribute positions. It is only the country and the people that permanently lose. It is most definitely a new world, and we must ask ourselves: how did this decline occur? We cannot change human nature. Thus, we need changes in the governing system that could utilize the interests of both - people and governors for creative goals, not for destruction.
