Este libro propone una lectura respecto a una de las figuras de la literatura que toca, de manera inquietante, cuestiones del pensamiento de la identidad/diferencia: el doble.En estas páginas se ofrece cierto recorrido por la visión eurocéntrica que se construyó sobre este personaje conceptual y una propuesta que abre la posibilidad de repensarlo y reescribirlo con una perspectiva poscolonial. La clave es el viaje al que nos invita Aimé Césaire en Una tempestad (Adaptación de La tempestad de Shakespeare para un teatro negro). Un movimiento que hace posible la resignificación del doble en las intersecciones del género/raza/clase/sexualidad y el despliegue de un mapa de las representaciones de la subjetividad en los discursos de la modernidad/colonialidad/decolonialidad. Es una invitación a revisitar personajes como Sycorax, Caliban, Miranda, Ariel y Próspero, su performatividad y la provocadora impronta en la mirada trágica de un mundo moderno colonial.

Matilde Belén Escobar Negri es Doctora en Letras por la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo y ha sido Research Fellow en la Universidad Federal de Santa Catarina, Brasil. Actualmente, es Becaria posdoctoral del CONICET. Fue docente en la Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia San Juan Bosco y coeditora del suplemento cultural del diario El Chubut.Es autora de artículos y capítulos de libros de crítica literaria, estudios literarios y culturales. Publicó (a)cerca del doble. Una aproximación teórico-literaria al motivo del doble desde textos de Carlos Fuentes y Javier Marías, charlas en Patagonia (con hacedores del campo cultural) I y II, ensayos literarios (poéticas sin-origen-ni-fin) y los libros de poesía: canto de Sycorax, gritar con un cuerpo roto/to shout with a broken body y luz amarilla/luz amarela.
