About the Book

This book Divorcing My Deceptive Husband is about my ex-husband, Katalay from Congo. When I met him he was a refugee. His status changed when we got married. This book is not about criticizing him or destroying his character. I have no intentions to destroy his character at all. I fear God who create lives and owns all souls. What I discuss in this book is how women citizens can be deceived by desperate refugees who prey on such women to gain citizenship. It is not only in the Republic of South Africa but in Europe and United States as well. Recently I met a Black South African man. I shared my background briefly and he said to me "mama, it is not only guys from Africa who are deceiving women to gain citizenship. I did when I was in United Kingdom. Let me briefly tell you my story. I have four daughters with four different British women". When he said this I felt sorrow in my heart. There I was, never loved by my Venda (Black) father, abandoned by my Congolese husband and he says this. I felt sorrow for those British women. He realized I was sad. He then said "mama, there are situations that force you to do wrong things. I went to work in the United Kingdom. My family back in South Africa wanted money. You know how our African families are. When you are overseas they think you make money all the time. So I impressed them by sending money. My visa expired then I had to return to South Africa. But I would not. I got involved with a White lady. I thought of marrying that one just for convenience. To get citizenship. Just like your Congolese husband did to you. Unfortunately in the United Kingdom is not as easy as here. In South Africa it is easy to get citizenship. So I struggled, I could not bring a White lady to my village. My finances could not cover this. I left her and got involved with three more White ladies. Some of them we were drunk - then the children came. I even got involved with the bad guys. I found myself in the streets. A university graduate with the bad guys. I had to survive. I did not love any of the ladies. I had to come back to South Africa. I then went to America. I lost all the money I made. I have just moved from a shack to a room. I don't have anything now. I was in business partnership with a Tender Boy. He went with most of the money. I'm surviving and doing business but it's tough. My university classmates are well off financially. I'm embarrassed when I see them. I moved from home, my province to here so that I can start over. Mama, you know these things happen".I asked that guy what his faith was. He said "I go to the old kind of churches. These new ones confuse me. I don't understand". Holy Spirit showed me the pain that that man caused the ladies he gave children. I asked him did you ask the mothers of your daughters to forgive you. You have caused them pain, too much pain. He said "I try to make right". He wanted to smoke cigarettes. I told him we would talk if we meet again. Sometimes one wish this is not true but it is. The second, the third and the fourth lady did not know about the other girl-friends. He kept it his secret. He told me that is what some refugees do when they are desperate to survive. I told him it depends on their faith in God. He did not agree with me. But that's ok. I wrote about this in my books: The Reigning of the Refugee and The Citizens Bow to the Refugee (see below) not realizing I was a citizen bowing to a refugee.
