This Guide is designed to help you on your journey through The Divine Deal and truly help you to discover and understand God's wonderful plan for your life. The Divine Deal Life is a BLUR as a parent, and sometimes our only conversations with our children consist of "Please just give me peace... or GO CLEAN your room!" When do we really sit down and talk about the things that are important in life with our children? So many times, we just don't. There is wisdom based on life experiences and knowledge gained that we want to share with our children but may never have the chance to. That became very real to me, when I lost both my mother and my husband within one week of each other. Tragedy has a way of giving life, like the way seeds are sown. A seed must die before it can spring forth with new life. Now, what was once just a frustration and something too difficult for me in my own mind became a mandate from the Holy Spirit in a "burning bush" moment for me when God spoke very clearly several times to WRITE THE BOOK. It was then "The Divine Deal" became a reality now dedicated to my mother and my children. Although, at first being written just for my children, the realization that this was something too important not to share with others also became very real to me at the same time and especially when several people confirmed the same, "The Divine Deal" was published for all parents wishing for their children to KNOW MORE as they come out of the Gate of Life. The book tackles the questions many youth are asking now like... Who am I? Why am I here? What is most important in life? And HOW do I go about achieving SUCCESS in EVERY ASPECT of life? There are fourteen chapters on unlocking God's plan for their life and truly gaining understanding of some of life's biggest questions. With almost 200 significant life changing scriptures and quotes, I did my best to make sure each child will have just about everything they need to know before making some of life's most important decisions. I really tried to cover the bases. The book drives home the understanding that real love is the key to A LOT OF THINGS and they'll gain understanding on... how to resist temptation overcome fear and anger how to truly forgive build their faith do their best the process of making the right decisions Discovering who their greatest fans are And so much more. We created a bible study series that will serve to be useful in a church youth group setting as well as a home setting for family devotionals. My hope is that it will get parents and their children talking about some of life's biggest ponderables... before it's too late.
About the Author: Sherry Matthews Plaster is a remarkable woman who has led a normal life but with an extraordinary purpose where indeed her pain was not wrought in vain. It's in our deepest despair, our destinies our forged. Last year when Sherry lost both her mother and her husband within one week of each other, something became very real to her. God began showing her to write the book early on, but it was when tragedy struck the real motivation set in. An Interview: How did The Divine Deal come into being? I was offered a publishing contract in Dec 2012 and declined. However, in losing Mom and Tom one week apart I decided to move forward with it in dedication to her and my children. When did the idea hit you? As I was sitting at the kitchen table one evening watching my son Jesse play, I started thinking about how I wanted my children to know so much more about God, people and life much sooner than I learned. That's when the idea came to write them a book. After a month or so of composing the outline and doing research, I was ready to start writing. Very quickly I decided to write a book was something I could not do. Disappointed, I put it away and moved on. A short time later, maybe a couple weeks, I was sitting having my nightly quiet time when a voice in my head said, WRITE THE BOOK. I thought no, it's too difficult to write, I can't do it. Several days later, same place and time, again WRITE THE BOOK. And again, I thought no way, I can't do it. I then thought wait a minute. Is this me arguing with myself or could it be.... I remember laughing out loud. RIGHT. The Holy Spirit is speaking to ME about writing a book. HA! A few days later, same place and time again, the same inner voice, only this time loud and demanding said... WRITE THE BOOK, SHERRY! Chills ran down my spine. Immediately my eyes filled with tears. Both hands went straight up in the air and this time I responded YES LORD....OK OK OK I got it! I will write this book Lord but you have to help me. I have no idea what I'm doing. I just can't do it without You. I promise though, with your help I WILL get it done no matter how long it takes.
