El tratado de Dios Uno y Trino, pertenece a la serie de manuales dedicados a la exposición sistemática de la Dogmática realizados por el autor. Es la segunda edición del manual, que fue publicado en 2010 en Santiago de Chile, presentando ahora los textos latinos con la traducción al español en doble columna, y haciendo actualizaciones y correcciones a la primera edición.

El misterio trinitario es el más importante y profundo de todos los de nuestra fe. Es el corazón de la Teología y el principio desde el que se ilumina todo el edificio de verdades que la constituyen. Es además una ayuda imprescindible para la vida espiritual del cristiano, quien amará más intensamente al Señor en la medida en que lo conozca mejor.

Se ha tratado de presentar la riqueza de este misterio. En un mundo teológico que parece olvidar o despreciar las grandes exposiciones clásicas de la Teología, y donde se han propuesto explicaciones que muchas veces directamente niegan aspectos fundamentales de la Revelación o de la enseñanza del auténtico Magisterio de la Iglesia, se hace necesaria la exposición de los grandes temas de la Teología trinitaria, siguiendo las ideas de Santo Tomás de Aquino como foco de inspiración teológica. Por la misma razón, se estudia con cuidado la Revelación del Misterio tanto en la Sagrada Escritura como en la Tradición, descubierta con preferencia en los escritos de los Santos Padres, así como el Magisterio auténtico de la Iglesia, y se señala con precisión las calificaciones teológicas de cada una de las tesis de dicha Teología.

Por otro lado --y como perspectiva necesaria para los tiempos en los que vivimos donde son frecuentes la confusión de ideas, las declaraciones ambiguas, las propuestas inaceptables por erróneas y heterodoxas--, también se ha querido actualizar el tratado, señalando los principales puntos de vista de la Teología contemporánea sobre este misterio, así como los errores y desenfoques que desafían los principios de la ortodoxia; la finalidad es que el lector o estudioso de nuestro tiempo pueda estar al día del estado de estos estudios y tenga las herramientas para descubrir sus insuficiencias o errores.

El presente estudio está dividido esencialmente en cinco grandes partes: el conocimiento sobre Dios, los datos revelados y magisteriales sobre el misterio, Dios en su unidad y en sus atributos entitativos y operativos, la Trinidad divina y, como colofón, el estudio de la inhabitación trinitaria en el justo.

Se ha tenido especial cuidado en mantener el equilibrio en la exposición para no olvidar ninguno de las dos principales afirmaciones sobre Dios: la unidad de la naturaleza divina y la trinidad de las Personas. A veces, algunos tratados clásicos, pueden hacer hincapié en uno de los dos elementos, olvidando el otro. El desafío para el expositor de la doctrina ortodoxa consiste en explicar ordenadamente ambos, pero sin perder la perspectiva del conjunto.

Hay que resaltar que se exponen los desarrollos que sobre la Teología trinitaria ha realizado A. Gálvez, desde su precisa y propia teoría del amor, que sirve como fermento fecundo para acercarnos un poco más al misterio trinitario. En efecto, el Dios trinitario, es el "Dios es Amor" (1 Jn 4:8.16), y un modo fructífero de hacer su Teología es indagando la misteriosa realidad del Amor.
