Parece un contrasentido hablar de psicología humanista, dado que la ciencia que estudia el comportamiento humano, la psicología, debería hacerlo para ayudar al ser humano a mejorar y superarse, a vivir con más bienestar, a ser mejor persona, a construir un mundo más justo. Sin embargo la experiencia nos dice que no siempre es así hay algunas psicologías que parecen haber olvidado su verdadero sentido y su legítima orientación prosocial y humana. Por ello, he querido llamar a este libro-manual "Dinámicas y Ejercicios de Psicología Humanista", desde un doble sentido. Por un lado se trata de 30 dinámicas y ejercicios que he ido creando a lo largo de los últimos 10 años, y que tanto yo como muchos educadores, psicólogos y terapeutas, hemos utilizado en diversos talleres y sesiones con un éxito más que razonable. Me baso, sobre todo, en una buena cantidad de mails y agradecimientos que me han llegado de quienes las han utilizado. Dichas dinámicas y ejercicios forman parte de mi sitio www.cocinandoaprendizajes.org y de mi canal de YouTube. Por otro lado, este conjunto de 30 dinámicas y ejercicios están inspirados y fundamentados por una o varias herramientas y orientaciones de la psicología moderna, sobre todo a partir de Abraham Maslow, el padre de la Psicología Humanista, pasando por autores como Eric Berne (Análisis Transaccional), Richard Bandler y John Grinder (Programación Neuro-Lingüística), Flora Davis (Comunicación no Verbal), Robert Dilts y Gregory Bateson (Modelo de los Niveles Neurológicos), Viktor Frankl (Psicología Existencial y Sentido de la Vida), Carl R. Rogers (El Enfoque centrado en la Persona), Daniel Goleman (Inteligencia Emocional), Paul Watzlawick (Lenguaje del Cambio), Carlos Castilla del Pino (Teoría de los Sentimientos), Howard Gardner (Inteligencias Múltiples), Kristin Neff (Autocompasión), Steven Hayes (Terapia de Aceptación y Compromiso - ACT), o Luis Rojas Marcos (Autoestima y Resiliencia). La Psicología Humanista nació con Maslow, y lo hizo por dos motivos. En primer lugar cambió el enfoque: en lugar de estudiar a las personas que funcionaban mal para saber por qué y tratar de "arreglarlas", Maslow se dedicó a estudiar a las personas que funcionaban bien y eran felices, y cuando supo por qué creo su modelo de "El Hombre Autorrealizado" para ayudar a todos a ser felices y mejores personas. En segundo lugar, porque hay en Maslow una clara dimensión ética de su psicología: él realmente deseaba ayudar a las personas, había pasado por una infancia y adolescencia difícil, era un chico tímido y poco agraciado físicamente, pero enfrentó su vida y descubrió cómo ser feliz a pesar de no tenerlo fácil, y entonces quiso compartirlo con todo el mundo. El libro contiene una primera serie de dinámicas más sencillas y breves, y progresivamente va planteando otras más complejas y largas, como por ejemplo del "Taller de Autoestima", pero todas ellas haciéndolas amigables mediante metáforas y propuestas de esquemas y ejercicios de trabajo con las personas. Se trata de un manual muy interesante para educadores/as, animadores/as, terapeutas, formadores/as, y en general todo profesional que desee realmente ayudar a las personas a mejorar, superarse y desarrollar sus capacidades más humanas.
