Dabei geht es nicht primär darum, dass die Bankkunden die immer größere Anzahl von Bankgeschäften bzw. Bankprodukten digital nutzen sollen, sondern die Bank soll den Kunden die Möglichkeit bieten, selbst zu entscheiden, ob sie die digitalisierten Angebote nutzen wollen oder das Gespräch mit dem Bankberater in der Bankfiliale auswählen. Die Banken sind somit herausgefordert, ihre Aktivitäten in den Online- und Offline- Kanälen zu koordinieren. Die Grenzen zwischen Online- und Offline- Aktivitäten müssen abgebaut werden, um eine kundenorientierte Ansprache über einen Omni-Kanal zu etablieren. Diese Entwicklung unterstreicht eindeutig die Notwendigkeit zu einer strukturellen Veränderung innerhalb des Bankenwesens. In dieser Arbeit soll die Veränderung am Beispiel des Konsumentenkredites im Privatkundengeschäft als ein wegweisender Lösungsansatz dargestellt werden. Dabei beschränken sich die Ausführungen auf die Banken in Deutschland und bzgl. des Konsumentenkredits auf ein digitales Modell der Commerzbank AG (CoBa). Darüber hinaus werden Cross-Selling-Ansätze im Bereich des digitalen Konsumentenkredites untersucht. In einer zukunftsorientierten Bank sollten die Online- und Offline- Aktivitäten nicht getrennt voneinander den Bankkunden offeriert, sondern als ein gemeinsamer Weg verstanden werden, um den Kunden ein Bankprodukt zu vermitteln. Da Kunden bereits in der Mehrzahl das klassische Online-Banking für Kontoabfragen und Überweisungen nutzen, ist der private Konsumenten- kredit als ein weiterführendes Produktangebot im Digitalisierungsprozess der Banken zu sehen.
