Diese Situation, welche in der vorliegenden Arbeit genauer erläutert wird, zeigt die Relevanz der Behandlung dieses Themas. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit war es, die Auswirkungen der digitalen Transformation in deutschen Unternehmen auf die Motivation der Mitarbeiter zu analysieren. Hierbei berücksichtigt wurde außerdem der Einfluss auf und die Veränderung durch die Unternehmenskultur. Um die Forschungsfragen zu beantworten, wurden acht Angestellte aus deutschen Unternehmen unterschiedlicher Branche, Größe, Zugehörigkeit und Erfahrung mithilfe von halbstrukturierten, leitfadengestützten Fragebögen in qualitativen Interviews befragt. Die dabei gewonnenen Erkenntnisse bestätigen zum großen Teil die aus der Theorie hergeleiteten Annahmen. Es wurde erkennbar, dass die digitalen Transformation bedeutsame Auswirkungen in unterschiedlichem Ausmaß und Intensität auf die Motivation der Mitarbeiter deutscher Unternehmen hat, welche von den einzelnen Handlungen des Unternehmens und den individuellen Wahrnehmungen des Mitarbeiters abhängig sind. In dieser Hinsicht hat sich weiterhin herausgestellt, dass es in Bezug zur Aufrechterhaltung der Arbeitsmotivation der Mitarbeiter großen Handlungsbedarf für Unternehmen und ihre Führungskräfte gibt. Die Ergebnisse dieser Arbeit sind insofern für deutsche Unternehmen und deren Führungskräfte interessant, als diese einen ersten Eindruck zu den Einflüssen der digitalen Transformation auf die Mitarbeitermotivation und daraus abgeleiteten potenziellen Handlungsempfehlungen verschaffen.
