Dabei werden gängige Methoden aus dem Stand der Wissenschaft eingesetzt und auf das Fallbeispiel, KFZ Visor, des Phantasie Unternehmens High-Tech Sunburst AG, angewandt und dieses dabei auch vorgestellt. Ebenso werden hierbei die Chancen und auch Grenzen dieser Methoden aufgezeigt und auf das Fallbeispiel transferiert. Hauptintention der Arbeit ist es, einen Mehrwert innerhalb der Produktentwicklung aufzuzeigen, der in der Praxis generiert werden kann. Die digitale Transformation ist einer der wichtigsten Wirtschaftsbegriffe des 21. Jahrhunderts. Diese beschreibt die wesentliche Neuausrichtung von Produkten, Dienstleistungen, Prozessen und Geschäftsmodellen etablierter Unternehmungen an den Herausforderungen einer immer schneller wachsenden digital werdenden Welt. Der Begriff Digital Business Leadership sollte an dieser Stelle noch benannt werden; hierbei ist es wichtig, dass das Management das Ergebnis des Transformationsprozesses genau definiert und fixiert. Eine wesentliche Herausforderung dabei ist der Faktor Zeit, deren größter Feind u.a. die organisatorische und individuelle Trägheit ist. Dies lässt sich insbesondere in mittleren und großen Unternehmen auffinden. Zusätzlich müssen neben qualifizierten Mitarbeitern und finanziellen Mitteln auch Prozess- und Projekt-Knowhow transferiert werden. Dies hat das Ziel durch kreative Ideen in marktfähige, nachhaltige, wertschöpfende Produkte zu kreieren um so das unternehmerische Potenzial zu steigern.
