Im vorliegenden Zyklus beschwört der Autor die Geburt des Menschen aus dem Wasser herauf. 30 Gesänge mit zweiversigen Strophen handeln von der See. Das Repertoire umfasst nicht nur Matrosen, Häfen und Hafenhuren sowie Stürme und Schiffbrüche, sondern auch Haie, Fischer und Gefischte. Über und unter Wasser pulsiert das Leben in schnellen Beats. Der atlantische Ozean stand bereits im Zentrum von Leitners vorangegangenem Lyrikband Das Meer tropft aus dem Hahn (2002). Danach legte er in Reclams Universalbibliothek die viel beachtete Sammlung Feuer, Wasser, Luft & Erde - Die Poesie der Elemente (2003) vor. Rezensionen: Lyrik wird häufig als elitär und blutleer bezeichnet. Dass es auch anders geht, beweist Anton G. Leitner in seinem neuen Gedichtband Der digitale Hai ist high. About the Author: Anton G. Leitner, Jg. 1961, studierte Rechtswissenschaft und Philosophie. 1993 beendete er seine Arbeit als Jurist, um sich hauptberuflich der Literatur zu widmen. Neben seiner Tatigkeit als Herausgeber der Zeitschrift Das Gedicht und von acht Anthologien (u. a. bei dtv und Reclam) veroffentlichte er Gedichte, Essays, Kritiken und eine Erzahlung. Er wurde mit dem Kulturpreis AusLese der Stiftung Lesen, dem V.O. Stomps-Preis der Stadt Mainz und dem Kogge-Forderpreis der Stadt Minden ausgezeichnet. Im Jahr 2001 berief ihn die Stadt Darmstadt in die Jury des Leonce-und-Lena-Preises. Leitner lebt in Weling (Landkreis Starnberg).
