Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich Geowissenschaften / Geographie - Sonstiges, Universität Leipzig (Institut für Geographie), Veranstaltung: Alpenexkursion, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Alpen werden heute in der Werbewelt für die Aufwertung unterschiedlichster Produkte symbolisiert. Sei ist die Alpenmilch, die gesunde Naturkräuter oder verschiedene Sportangebote. Die Alpen stehen für Natürlichkeit, Gesundheit und Heimat. Doch hat diese Wahrnehmung einen widersprüchlichen Anfang. Schon im Mittelalter dienten die Alpen für Angstgeschichten und Grusel. Die englische Literatur entwickelte eine zunehmende Suche nach diesem Schauer, den die Alpen erzeugten und schrieben ihre Werke vornehmlich dort, mit der Zeit gewann auch die Malerei ein Interesse dafür. Die Alpen gelangten zunehmend in den Fokus der Öffentlichkeit und so wollten die Literatur und Kunst-Liebhaber auch an diesem sagenumwobenen Ort sein, der sich sonst nur in den Büchern oder Gemälde darbot. Das schaurige Gefühl am Abgrund zu stehen, wurde zum gesellschaftsfähigen Phänomen dem sich immer weniger entzogen. Mit der Industrialisierung entstand ein neues Naturbewusstsein. Die Städte wuchsen und wurden von den Industrien stark belastet. Der weniger entwickelte Alpenraum bot hier die Zuflucht. Auch die Literaturen und Bilder wurden allmählich zum Schönen und naturbelassenen Urlaubsziel. Dabei entwickelte sich ein Bild, dass immer wieder in den Medien erkennbar ist und deutlich macht, wie die Alpen aus den Köpfen nach Natur-Suchender nicht verschwindet. Diese Arbeit zeigt ein Weg auf, wie sich das Bild und die Alpen veränderte und das anfänglich starke Symbol an Bedeutungsinhalt zu verlieren droht.
